Just ordered delivery. Food was great. Curry chicken is really good. I love the restaurant included extra curry sauce on side . I wish it included more cabbage in the sides because its so good. Rice and peas amazing. Also tried yams , plantains and a beef patty . Very good !!!
I live in The Colony and paid extra to have my food delivered. It was worth the extra charge!! The next week my husband wanted to drive to Irving to eat at the restaurant. Roland's did not disappoint!!! The service was just as good as the food!!
First meal in Dallas during my visit for work was beyond amazing! I ordered the Jamaican jerk chicken with rice and greens with a nice side of plantains - the portion was huge! I easily could've shared with another person. Quick service . I didn't get to see the restaurant as I ordered via DoorDash but I can tell you this food was made with love! I would definitely come back next time in the area to experience the ambiance of the restaurant. Thank you !
Super solid local spot. Quick and kind service, tasty food, with a cozy and authentic vibe. I tried the beef patty which was really good (not pictured) and I got the jerk chicken plate with two sides ($16): plantains and rice and beans. The food was extra hot and fresh and had great flavors. And all the prices were pretty reasonable. I will be back for sure.
Holy Shit That's Good, I was lucky enough to study marine biology in St. Ann's Bay through Hofstra U during my undergrad for a year. I've been looking for this in the US for 20 years. Unreal good. A lot of the Jerk you find in the states is just baked/roasted. This is the real deal. Probably an offset smoker with hardwood but getting pimento logs to the US is very expensive - if you can get it. Pimento trees grow an allspice tasting leaf that only grows in the Mangroves. Whatever Roland and his staff are doing is amazing. Dude and his staff deserve some serious respect and if you can read this you can't get there soon enough. Unreal good. Thank you Roland and staff. I first want to start with the service, truly A1. Greeted by all the workers, the server was extremely nice and helpful. The FOOD!!!!!!! So much flavor and tasted amazing. This spot is a true gem!!!
Best Jamaican food in DFW, and per my son, Roland's may be better than any Jamaican he's had in NYC! We started with the beef patty which has a wonderful flaky crust and great flavor, and it just got better from there. We loved everything we ordered - oxtails are tender, jerk chicken juicy and perfectly cooked, and sauces were provided that complemented the meats (and rice) very well. The sides were stars on their own - spinach well seasoned with some codfish, and collard greens the same but with pork, and the Mac and Cheese is island-style and well worth the addtl $1.50 charge. Our server Biliki provided friendly and attentive service. Our only mistake was not ordering a whole jerk chicken so we could take some home - but we won't make this mistake next time lol. We can't wait to come back to Roland's!
